My First Day at School

My Pet

Having a pet means having a best friend at home. A pet gives us a lot of happiness and mental support. I have a pet dog named Bruno. He is very energetic and friendly. Bruno loves to run around and play with me. He can immediately make anyone happy with his cheerful personality. He guards our house and barks at strangers, and keeps us safe. I feed him milk, biscuits, and rice with meat. He is very loyal, and whenever I feel sad, Bruno comes near me and makes me happy. When I am out, he patiently waits for me and when I return, he jumps around happily. Every afternoon I take him out for a walk. Bruno is not just a pet to us, he is part of family. I love him very much and take good care of him.

Good Habits

We need to learn good habits because they help us to become better human beings. We should wake up early, brush our teeth and keep ourselves clean. Studying regularly and working hard are necessary for success in life. We should always respect elders and speak politely. We should always eat healthy food and avoid junk food. We keep our room, house, school and city clean. We should always support people in their problems. Going school on time is also a good habit. We should cut our nails regularly. After eating, we must throw food packets in the dustbin. Good habits guide us in life forever. If we follow them, we will receive respect and feel proud. Our Country

India is my country and I love it very much. It is a beautiful nation and the seventh-largest country by area in the world. India is the land of many languages, cultures, and traditions. People celebrate different festivals with joy and unity. India has a rich history of freedom fighters who fought bravely for independence. Our national bird is the peacock, and our national animal is the tiger. Our national fruit is the mango. Our national anthem is 'Jana gana mana'. Our national game is hockey. India's national flag consists of three colours: saffron, white and green. In the middle it has the Ashoka Chakra. The national flag makes us proud. The Himalayas, the world’s highest mountain range, pass through India. It has many rivers, plains and a desert. India has famous monuments like the Taj Mahal and Red Fort. Our country teaches us unity in diversity. I feel proud to be an Indian. I wish to serve my country and make it better.

Visit to a Circus Show

Last month I went to a circus show with my parents and sibling. It was so much fun. I was so excited when I went inside the tent. It was beautifully decorated with colourful cloths. The clowns made us laugh with their funny dresses and activities. I was amazed to see the acrobats performing amazing tricks high in the air. Elephants, tigers, and horses also took part in the show. I really loved their acts. The audience cheered and clapped loudly with each performance. There were also tightrope walking, cycling, juggling, and other shows. I was surprised to see how brave the performers were. It was a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed it very much. The circus show is deeply carved in my memory that I will never be able to forget.

Visit to a Place of Interest

Last Sunday I visited the Birla Planetarium with my family members. I was very excited about the journey because it is one of the famous visiting places in Kolkata. The building looks very beautiful with a white dome-like structure. I always wondered about the unknown sky above me. So, when I went inside, I felt very excited. Inside, there is a big hall, we watched a space show about stars, planets, and the solar system. It felt like the roof had disappeared, and I was sitting right under a starry sky. A voice explained many things about the sun, moon, planets, and galaxies in a very easy way. I was amazed to see all of these so closely. Visiting the planetarium was fun and also educational. It made me realize how big and beautiful our universe is. It was a very memorable trip of my life.

Our National Flag

The national flag is a symbol of pride, unity, and freedom. Every independent nation has its own unique flag. Our national flag is called the 'Tiranga' or Tricolour. It was adopted in its current form in July 1947. It has three colours: saffron at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom. In the centre, there is a blue Ashoka Chakra with 24 spokes. It is called 'Dharma Chakra'. In the national flag, the saffron colour stands for courage, white stands for peace, and green stands for growth. The Ashoka Chakra stands for righteousness, justice and progress. We hoist the flag in government offices, schools and colleges on important days like Independence Day and Republic Day. The Indian flag represents the unity in the diversity of our nation. The national flag reminds us of our freedom and unity. It is very important for us and all Indians respect the national flag.

My Favourite Festival

My Favourite Festival Diwali

In India, we celebrate many festivals. Among them, my favourite festival is Diwali. It is called the festival of lights. Diwali is celebrated in the month of October or November. Diwali is celebrated to signify that light wins over darkness and good wins over evil. In Diwali, people decorate their houses with lamps, candles, and rangoli. Indians worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on this day. I burst firecrackers with my friends and family members and enjoy sweets. Families visits and give gifts each other. Diwali brings joy, happiness, and togetherness. Diwali fills our hearts with warmth and brings everyone together in celebration. I always look forward to this festival with great excitement and joy. It is the most beautiful festival for me.

My Favourite Festival Eid

In India, we celebrate many festivals. Among them, Eid-ul-Fitr is my favourite festival. It is a joyous occasion marking the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. It is a celebration of gratitude, unity, and love. Eid is a festival of brotherhood and charity. On this day, Muslims gather at mosques or open grounds in large numbers to offer special morning prayers. India has many seasons but my favourite season is winter. In our country, winter usually comes in December and January. I eagerly wait for winter every year. Winter is free from intense heat of summer, and we can wear comfortable dresses. The weather is cool and pleasant at that time. The mornings are often misty, creating a magical and cozy atmosphere. We can enjoy hot food like soup, tea, and sweets in winter. In this time, I love playing outside because the sun feels warm and nice. Winter brings many festivals like Christmas. It is also the time for holidays and picnics. We can have fresh fruits and vegetables at this time. It is the best season for me because it makes life enjoyable. Winter brings happiness and comfort. India has four seasons but my favourite season is spring. In our country, spring usually stays for February and March. It is my favourite season because it brings a refreshing and vibrant nature. Spring fills the whole world with colourful and bright flowers, pleasant temperature and singing birds. After winter's cold, the trees revive and the temperature is also very comforting making it not too cold or too hot. It is a wonderful time to go outdoors.
