Amid the Dancing Waves

          I love adventure. One day, I quietly left home and went on a boat ride in the sea. The sea was huge, and big waves rose all around my small boat. At first, I felt scared seeing so much water, but soon I felt excited. The salty wind touched my face, the waves made soft sounds, and my heart beat fast with joy. It was a little scary, but also full of fun and life.

Two Friends and A Bear's Story / True Friend

       Two friends were passing through a forest when a bear suddenly appeared. One friend quickly climbed a tree, but the other could not. Helpless, he lay on the ground, holding his breath and pretending to be dead. The bear came close, sniffed him, and thought he was lifeless. Losing interest, it walked away. When the bear was gone, the friend from the tree climbed down. He asked, "What did the bear whisper to you?" The other replied, "Never trust a friend who abandons you in danger."

{Three Alternative Answers}

           I had been eagerly waiting for my exam results, hoping for good marks. Each day felt longer than the last as I kept checking the website and asking friends if the results were out. To distract myself, I read books and watched movies, but the excitement never faded. Finally, the day arrived, and with trembling hands, I checked my result. Seeing my excellent scores, I felt overjoyed and relieved. All the waiting and anxiety had been worth it!

Or

         I had been eagerly waiting for the results of a scholarship application that could shape my future. The days dragged on as I checked my email obsessively, trying to distract myself with books, music, and hopeful conversations with friends. Finally, the notification arrived—it was a success! The moment felt surreal. Joy surged through me, and all the anxiety melted into relief. That single message turned weeks of restless waiting into an unforgettable celebration of hope fulfilled.

Or

      When I submitted my drawing to the competition, I was filled with nervous excitement. I had poured hours of imagination and effort into it, unsure how it would be received. Waiting for the results felt like forever—I kept imagining different outcomes while doodling away to calm my mind. Then, the announcement came: I had won first place! I was stunned, thrilled, and proud all at once. That moment of recognition made the journey totally worth it and inspired me to keep creating.

Writings From the Chapter "An April Day"

Write a paragraph in about eighty words on the changes that you see in nature when spring comes after winter.

          When spring comes after winter, nature becomes calm and fresh. The air feels warmer, and trees grow new green leaves. Flowers like marigold and hibiscus begin to bloom, adding bright colours to gardens and parks. Birds chirp happily in the morning, and butterflies fly around looking for nectar. The sky becomes clearer, and soft winds blow gently through the trees. People enjoy outdoor walks again. After the dry winter, spring brings joy, colour, and new life to everything.

You have a separate routine of work in the morning and in the evening. Write a page in your diary on that part of the day which you prefer more.

March 28, 2025 Friday 9:00 p.m.

      I enjoy living a routine life. In the morning, I wake up early, do yoga, eat breakfast, and study before school. After returning, I take a short break and study again till evening. Just before sunset, I sit quietly and watch the sky—it brings a calm feeling and gently marks the end of the day. Mornings give me energy, but evenings are my favourite. I relax after a fulfilling day, eat dinner with my family, and go to bed with a peaceful mind.

Dear Aunt,

                 I hope you are doing well. I recently read an exciting adventure story called 'Treasure Island' by Robert Louis Stevenson. It’s about a young boy, Jim Hawkins, who finds a pirate’s treasure map and sets sail on a thrilling journey full of danger. He reached a new land and went through many adventures. I loved the story because of its suspense and action-packed moments. The characters were amazing, especially the clever pirate, Long John Silver. Did you read it too? What do you think about it?

                   Take care. I shall be waiting for your reply.

The class teacher noticed this and indicated with his eyes to Gandhi to copy the correct spelling from another student's exercise book. But he did not do this.
